Yankees Fan Eats Reporters’ Pork Chop ( Video ). This is great. YES reporter, Kim Jones, never skips a beat. The slow-mo replay is worth every single penny, and the fact that he has a little broom attached to his necklace just adds to his … classyness.
Phillie FAN TAZED!!! Video and Pic. BRO I just wanted to run on the field!!! Put that tazer away man. My Dad used to do this all the time. This is a family tradition man! Please Don’t … hey … … Don’t Taze me BRO!!!
I love that they applaud the fact that he regained bodily awareness and was able to walk off the field, as if he was a player. The 700 Level and SB Nation.
Video: Marlon Byrd, Behind the Back Circus Catch, 4-28-10. With the sun in his eyes, Marlon makes an unbelievable catch. Baseball Tonight had this as their #5 web gem. Ahead of this play were 3 rather pedestrian plays, and one really nice throw, but this catch is a one in a million.
Juan Castro With An Amazing Play, 4-27-10, Video. Look at this. This is one of the famed “Web Gems” from our good buds at ESPN. The Phillies Shortstop dives to his left, flips the ball with the glove, whilst in mid air, and turns the DP.
Watch the vid before the geniuses at MLB take it down.
I wonder how many people know that Juan Castro even plays for the Phillies. I am guessing less than %10 of casual baseball fans, and only 20% of American Leagues baseball fans, and maybe 40% of National League baseball fans.
It’s a good thing that MLB baseball takes down all of these videos. Somebody might know a defensive players name. I mean defense is only half of the game. Right?
When I bashed the MLB media for being close minded some people thought I was being naive. So, here are some questions. How will all of the “casual fans” see this amazing play if they do not log in to MLB.com. Why would a casual fan log on to MLB.com daily?
Here is my answer. They won’t. Casual fans and internet surfers will go from Facebook to Digg to Reddit to email to Twitter to maybe their favorite blog. If MLB wanted to let everyone know about their game, they would let anyone post their highlights. Then people could see this play on Facebook to Digg to Reddit to email to Twitter to maybe their favorite blog. ( Just like they do with Basketball. )
So call me close minded, but my point in my previous post was that the MLB can make as much cash that they want to on their website, but the free advertising they are missing out on is worth far more.
As a student of UN and a Reno resident, I have seen many things in this town (which features 24-hour drinking, gambling, and prostitution). However, there are some downsides. As the almighty Dave Attell once said- “You know what Reno doesn’t have? A Zoo. And after three days of boozin, gamblin’ and bangin’ hookers, you kinda want to see a panda.” Mr. Attell- we have a nice consolation prize for your zoo-less Reno soul: moonwalking wolves falling from dugouts.
Let me paint you this scene: University of Nevada Wolf Pack playing an exhibition game vs [Diamondbacks' Triple-A affiliate] Reno Aces. Mascots engage in a dance-off in between innings on top of the 3rd base dug out. Wolfie Jr (the secondary mascot of the Wolf “Pack”) gets a little aggressive during a moonwalk, and…
Joshua Sacco = Coolest Kid EVAH! This video of this 5 year old giving the Herb Brooks “Miracle” speech to the Sawx is wicked awesome!
Even if you are not a Red Sox fan, you have to admit that this is pretty sweet, and the kid really sells it. Well played Mr. Sacco! Well played indeed!
Jason Heyward Hits Home Run in First MLB At Bat! Video. Did I mention I am a Braves fan? Because I totally am, and this guy has me as excited as I was every season that Andruw Jones showed promise that he was going to be the next Willie Mays.
Andruw Rudolph Jones had a couple great years and a ton of so-so years. “Say Hey Willie Mays” … he was not, at least on the offensive side.
I am hoping that Heyward follows the David Justice mold and plays good to great baseball his whole career. I am not hoping that he starts his career like Chipper Jones. I had Chipper’s rookie card for years until I actually started to see him regularly in the bigs.
Yes, the Braves have a thing with rookies. We love all of our rookies. We also have a habit of standing by them even if they have big holes in their swings ( Klesko ) or have the attention span of a spider monkey ( A. Jones ).
All I can say is, Good Luck Heyward! We need you! ( no pressure )
Hat tip on the vid goes to TLOCG.
