When last we left Sal Fasano, he was enjoying his first year as a minor league manager and being more likeable than A-Rod. In an update from Canada’s National Post, Fasano’s mustache is still quite awesome:
And at least one of his players really likes the man behind the mustache. Kevin Ahrens, a first-round pick in 2007 by the Blue Jays who’s now 21 and still hasn’t gotten higher than A-ball, raves about his pal Sal:
Sal’s a great guy, a great manager. He’s really taught me more about baseball and life, and how to separate them, and come to the ballpark every day with a great attitude. I thank him for that.
Through his first 124 games as a minor league manager, Sal Fasano is 62-62. The season ends on September 6, but his Lansing Lugnuts still have an outside chance at making the playoffs, needing to gain two games in the standings and move past two other teams.
